Such humour! You get less chances of getting within range with a 12 bore, and when you do, a lot of shot ends up in the ground. If you get your rabbit it will be riddled with shot. A .22 magnum rifle with a night sight - the busines!

Not strictly true, if you've ever skinned an animal it's quite surprising how little shot gets into them, unless you're using your second barrel to finish them off

Now that wouldn't be my thing at all, and takes us into another area. We are really talking about shooting for the pot here, not shooting for profit. A few shot in a rabbit I eat is neither here nor there.

Lead shot is perfectly acceptable in pigeons anyway, even one's in sainsburys have a lead shot disclaimer.

I have to admit there's nothing worse than biting into a nice fleshy bit, only to break a tooth on a piece of shot.

Thats excellent, but I wasn't born an expert, and had to learn along the way, including a few woundings. Who hasn't?
