I want to make cucumber soap but can't find a recipe. My concern is that cucumber is very watery so will it affect the amount of lye you use?
Anyone got a UK friendly recipe?

Never made cucumber soap myself, but there are many recipes around and about. Someone here might have had a go... Sally?

That's a US site though. I don't understand their recipes
I've googled for UK sites but haven't come up with anything.

Never made it myself, but my gut feeling would be to grate or liquidise and strain your cucumber first- retain the strained bit, and use that as part of your water allowance in the lye mixture. I think I would make the lye with the 'real' water, and add the 'cucumber water' after the initial mixing, then add the mushy bit of the grated cucumber at trace. As I say though, just a guess, but you could use a good basic plain soap recipe and have a go, do a small batch at first, as the additional bucumber may make the soap a bit softer and may also give it a slightly shorter shelf life.
