We were out and about today and at the outdoor part of a cafe, the robins have people so well trained that they will take crumbs from either on the hand or from between the fingers. Cheeky little things.

several nice looking young pigeons, i am starting to see the difference between "my flock" and the wider pigeon population

a combo of good food and avoiding grin has "improved" the stock

maybe not the one that just thumped into the window

Oops
I hope both bird and window are ok.

I have put a small feeder on my rear living room window...clear plastic, a 2 (3 at a squeeze) sparrow size trough with a roof.
I haven't noticed any window collisions since adding that.

We sometimes have them bounce off our bedroom window and they fall into the creeper under it. They usually gather themselves fairly quickly I am glad to say.

unshot and untweaked for pretty, it does not need it, that mouse can dig
2 nights, so far

the daws are used to me, but not used to me and the camera yet, sparrows and pige are very relaxed

the daws are first generation in my flock, these things take time

Pretty. I haven't seen any fawns in the woods yet, but no doubt will as the summer progresses.

birdtown news

the daws have a youngster, delightful, i am looking forward to its voice breaking, what a noise when it is hungry

about 25 sparrows so far, most first, in both senses, clutches have an average of 3 at fledging
that is good, they are inexperienced parents, my best guestimate census in February was about ten

the pigeons are good at dishpig duties, and at asking to be hand fed

the sammisons are few but present at the mo

Daughter has something digging in her garden..in the corner that she knows there are rats.....earth was flung out a metre....
Hole is fairly round, diameter ¾ secateur length.

So it looks like it is something after the rats.....hole too small for badger...too big for rabbits....the only other things around there are foxes and polecats.....
Any ideas? (Llandre, north of Aberystwyth)
If someone is on WhatsApp I can forward the photos of the hole and paw prints

(I can't easily do downsizer on my phone...it does not load properly and looks rather different)
Ed to add....hole goes in two feet....

I would say pawprints are the key. You or she could try fox or polecat prints on internet; bound to be a picture of them.

fox? any scent, fur or sighting?

prints are good, many critters are light of foot so other means

camera trap?
