Thats going some TC. The thought of you catching that first fish on a home made lure must be tantalising. Never mind, they'll soon be inshore. What paint have you used?

I've made half a dozen. I use a simple acrylic white wood undercoat, then add some grey for the next coat and then the secret top coat - glittery clear nail polish (Rimmel 500 disco ball and NYC gramercy glitz if you're interested).

Ooh, it's got the London Look.

Do you buy it yourself, or send Bugs in?

I used to have to buy gallons of nail varnish remover for work, and I'm sure the lady in Boots was suspicious.

I've not bought any on my own although I happily would. I often look at the prices, which are shocking for what the stuff is, and only get something if it's on offer.

I do have to make sure I clean my nails before going out of the house if I've been painting them though.

I'm now trying to get my masculinity back by looking at lead smelting.

I used to melt lead over a Bunsen at lunchtime. No protection, and breathed in the fumes.

What could possibly go wrong?

Actually, no. But it was in my mums kitchen ladle. I had a small industry churning out kobolds and goblins for the D&D kids.

More likely to be the high heels that you were wearing.

That looks fab. Bet it would work on Pollack as well. Good luck with it.

Very life like, how did you get the scale pattern - painting through a net or something?

Looking at the weather I may get to try mine out next week, it's going to be sunny if still rather cold.

First I cover the wood with tin foil and burnish it down, then spray the light base colour first. Next comes the black through a net followed by several coats of epoxy resin.

Cheers

Jon
