I discovered one on the street whilst walking the dog. It is now in the corner awaiting us finding a lovely walnut cabinet to do the same job. This the second TV stand we have found in such a way - the previous one is still, in part, in the kindling pile.

urban forage is a wonderful skill. i think an 18th c steel pierced work fender is among my best ones although 5 pans and a stand for them and a laundry basket minutes after a chum said they needed pans and something to put the washing in was a bit good .

Suburban forage at the most here. But - yes it is to be encouraged.

one should be aware of the "stealing by finding"laws but for the most part urban forage is a fine way to reduce and reuse i was trained by jedi skip divers and i still use the force,the recent stuff is a gas meter cupboard,2 interior windowsills and a fender from a fire surround and a piano lid ,all indecent quality antique oak it requires similar skills to ray mears type foraging.
