the dirty four dozen were pretty robust up to a point but those chooks did well.

i saw a huge collection of magpies do bad things to a fox and know of a crows kill puss incident

having had a trench fight with rapist rooster i recon the right chooks could deal with most predators if they were selected for that role.
im not sure i would want to try to steal their eggs though

Nice to see the tables turned!

There is a pair of magpies that regularly visit our garden. I have seen them terrorising the squirrel several times.
