it needs to work
it needs to outlast me
the new wall/doorway should be fairly stable(it is here so there is a fair bit of heave )
it needs to look ok
it needs to be a good size for purpose
there are elevation issues, especially with the lay of the existing concrete

soft wood is out
metal is out(unless i went expensive industrial)

cut a tudor door using marine ply?

steal side door off 300 yr old pub while it is shut

There's lots of treated timbers that should last well:

thanks, noted for later when needed, 2 sheets of 18mm marine ply seemed the easy way to make one

i dont have a hole yet, it will change size and shape when i do

MP, good design, good cutting, epoxy, maybe clenched square nails for pretty and function

i have a source of rosehead copper nails, i will report back as to quality

i got some steel ones which might be useful, but copper seems ideal for my last ever bespoke door

marine ply, epoxy and clenched copper boat nails, yummy
