By the way, the brown bits are just soil from my bad wrapping, it's pristine white inside otherwise, after a wee brushing. You reckon it's still too old...?  |

But doesn't the earth ball have a black inside, almost like a truffle covered by a whitish skin?
And from my mushroom books, there are some species that have a foot of some sort, and almost look like ... |
