It's firm but not hard, a bit like strong marshmallow, and it was lonesome on the edge of a meadow, near a hedgerow.

By the way, the brown bits are just soil from my bad wrapping, it's pristine white inside otherwise, after a wee brushing. You reckon it's still too old...?

Still finding wood blewits in the park, too many to eat every week. They seem to hide in the bushes and younger trees, not in the nice old oaks and birches where i would look for ceps and chanterelles ...

It doesn't seem to be the flower blewit as it does have clearly pinkish purpully gills. There is also a distinctive smell, quite pleasant and I'll need to check if it reminds me of aniseed. The cap is ...
