I hatch out Welbar eggs regularly and I can't say I've noticed a problem compared to hatching paler eggs like from my Dorkings, Old English Pheasant Fowl or Cream Legbars. Interesting

Yep, too many males will reduce egg laying. Also quail need longer daylength to come into lay than chickens. Once they do lay though...usually very good - egg from each most days with only a few days ...

They are now 5 wks old + and off heat. Have been sexed. 4 boys and 4 girls still looking for homes (if no takers soon the boys will be culled). Some will be making their way to Shropshire soon

Last year we have 78% hatch rate.
